This past weekend Paul and I had such fun at our friend Kat’s house partaking in her new tradition of a gingerbread house party!  We were greeted with tasty drinks and shown to the floor where a large cloth filled with “materials” was there waiting for us.  We had graham crakers, chocolate morsels, marshmallows, gummy bears and lots and lots of frosting to build our creations.   And create we did!  Everyone grabbed their spot and got to work building their structures.  There was everything from an igloo to a couch/TV and houses of all shapes and sizes in between.  How much fun it was to try something different and at the same time become part of a new tradition.  Thanks Kat!

This is my creation…

The end product of our creativity is directly related to our ability to play as children.

Children play without barriers. As we get older, it becomes not cool to play. Especially for men. We have to get back to playing like children.

    BTW, nice gingerbread house.

Yes, that’s what it felt like – especially sitting on the floor and getting frosting all over our clothes! Paul really enjoyed it too – of course he always loves building things…
